The Look, in the East Village

Graffiti Truck, East Village
Photo by myself on First Avenue and 12th Street, in the East Village.

I got 'the look' from a guy passing by on a bike in the East Village. With the graffiti-covered truck behind him, you'd think it was a tough neighborhood.

The chain around the fellow's body is not for combat. It's to lock his bike up and ensure that the bike will be there later. You see bike messengers and cyclists carry their chains like that, slung around the body.

Lock it or lose it. He does have glaring stare.
Judging by comment ahead of mine you need to turn your spam filter on.

Nice city shot. Like also the van with the graffiti like decoration. How does the world look in 10 years. Then look back to this one.

He and the truck make a great pair. Yes, very urban.

East Village--are you saying it's not a rough neighborhood? What's there these days? And I've wondered if all of Manhattan has become gentrified--gentrification seems to be the most common comment I hear about NYC.

It's a look that's for sure! Cool shot with the truck behind him.
